We both came into Chicago O'Hare and he went to one line and I went to another to stand in line for immigration. He waited patiently for about 20 minutes and he was photographed and fingerprinted and then he was given a pink slim notebook and told to go get his luggage and go wait in another room with other people. He says he was the last one they called on and they just looked at his file and did not ask him anything only this question "why did you choose this day to come to the US?" Since it was Innaguration Day. Anyway, I waited outside in the international hallway with everyone else for their family for about 1 hr and 1/2. I got worried because it seemed like such a long time. And some family members of mine waited with me who were from Chicago. Finally he came out and was all smiles and we ate at the airport with my family and we went on to board another flight to Austin.
Overall immigration/customs did ok with him.
