 Fiancee arrived at JFK POE and was given 6 month visa (for a K1 Visa???) and refused an EAD. He was not asked a single question or given any reason for denying the EAD. Just shoved through. I'm guessing they thought he was a tourist, however the stamp in the passport says K1. But no explanation for a 6 month instead of a 90 day visa and no EAD.... So while this was "Easy" (no harassment) it leaves us in a big mess not having a authorization to work.
