Couldn't have been simpler. Reached JFK at 3:40 PM, and walked quickly to the Immigration. Unfortunately quite a few flights had reached around that time and the place was swamped. Around 200 or more people in front of me. Fortunately it went fast and I was at the immigration counter in about an hour. The officer opened the envelope and confirmed details on his 'puter. I was asked to give my fingerprints and he took the picture. He then put all the papers (from the Embassy, the original petition with the approved stamp) in a green folder and directed me to the end of the corridor. People with their documents in red folders were being put through extra scrutiny. I however passed on the end of the corridor and was directed along another corridor to the officer who examined my documents, stamped my I-94 with the EAD and sent me on my way. Perfect! Couldn't have been easier. In all it took around 1h30m. Picked up my luggage and onwards to my connection.
