Hmmm, Detroit was interesting. The people were quite friendly, but the system did not seem to have a very smooth process. We both went to the visitor's entrances as instructed by several people in Red Coats. We waited in line with hundreds of other tourist visa holders until we finally reached a Homeland Security Officer who was very friendly and confused that we were in his line. He did an initial screening of information and then sent us to the special cases line. We then went back to that line (we were told earlier that we could NOT go in that line)and waited another 30 minutes. It looks as if everyone has to approach the visitors queues first, and then get referred to the special cases line - a long and cumbersome process (we landed before 1PM and got out of the airport around 3 or 3:30), but all the people were quite friendly. Once we got to the window with the officer, he was great and made the entire process end on a really nice note.
