Arrived very early at JFK. I passed through first immigration counter with ease after handing the big brown envelope to officer at POE. My passport was stamped and the I-94 card was attached. Eventually, all the documents in the big brown envelope were put in a color coded file and given back to me. A few minutes later, with the color coded file in hand, I was directed to walk over to another section for further processing. After a short stay here, I was directed by an officer to another section after she thought she had reviewed my file carefully (actually I was sent to the immigrant section in error, on reaching there, CO said I should go back and tell the officer that I am a K1 visa applicant. After a series of short questions to confirm my identity, I was through with immigration officer. I collected my languages and off I went to meet my other half waiting patiently for my arrival.
My advice is to have your significant order confirm there are no spelling mistakes in your names as a result poor data entry before leaving the embassy. We had to go USCIS office to correct my mother’s name and we still need to make a second visit back to USCIS since my name was spelled wrong on the database that social security administration uses. However, it did not delay issuing of social security card. I apologize for submitting a late POE review.
