My fiance had an interview 10/31/2006 at the US Embassy in Seoul. I was in Korea at the time. I did not go to the interview with him, we did not know it was allowed. They asked him to come back the next day with me. The officer had many doubts that my fiance intended a real marriage - she said because he is not steadily employed and has four children it seems like he would do anything to get into America for the education of his children...she wondered if he really intended to stay with me.. we worked hard to convince her that we really love each other... I felt this interview was tough, not easy like most of the reviews I see here. I am still uncertain of the outcome...it's neither approved nor denied yet. Finally she said she would take our words at face value, but she still needs further documentation about things on the police report. So we have to wait for that. I was asked why I wanted to marry a Korean man (the interviewer was a Korean American, and said even for her there is too much of a cultural divide between her and Korean men). He was asked why didn't he marry a Korean American woman instead. I felt like someone who doesn't know us was assuming he had ulterior motivations and was going to decide our fate in 15 minutes. I am worried.
