I got to the ambassy at 12:40 (my appointment was at 1pm). When I entered the building, the waiting room was full of people. I took a ticket (I was number A 105), took a seat, and talked to the woman with her daughter in front of me who was number A 101. Therefore, there were at least 4 persons in front of me, waiting for the same kind of visa. I was called at window 5 after 30 minutes of waiting (I had a watch with me, no clock in the waiting room). The lady was very nice, she asked for my appointment letter as well as my ticket. Then she told me to go back to seat, that I will be called latter. 40 minutes latter, I was called window 6, that was another lady (not as cheerful as the other one but anyway) she asked for all the documents we are supposed to bring, she says she was happy to see that I correctly filled the forms DS-156, apparently a lot of people make mistakes filling this form (I actually filled it 3 times ) She asked me if I had already bought my plane ticket, I said yes, she asked me when is the flight, I said in 2 weeks, she said that if my visa was approved by the consular officer, I should get my visa by this time. Then she gave me back the folder my fiance sent along with the I-129F form. I went back to seat for about 1 hour I guess, I didn't not really check my watch. Then I was called window 10 for my interview with the consular officer. The 2 first called (window 5 and 6, everything was in french) but the interview was in english (except with some people, I could hear the consul speaking french in some of the interviews, especially when there is a child). So when I got to the window 10, the CO (that was a man) was smilling and very nice. The first question was \\\"tell me about your fiance\\\", then \\\"when and where did you meet\\\", \\\"when did it get serious\\\" He showed me 2 pictures my fiance previously sent and asked me who were those persons, where exactly my fiance was living in nyc, (he told me he had family there), then he asked the name of his university, when was the last time we saw each other, and that\\\'s it as far as I remember. Then he told me my visa was approved, he started counting on his fingers to see when I should get the visa,(he was like \\\"all right, the time we print it on the passport, we send it... you should get it next wednesday!\\\"
Then he told me \\\"Bon voyage\\\" raising his thumb to me!
I spent 3 hours at the embassy, left around 3:40 pm.
Advice: get the most information you can about filling the forms, through this website and feel free to ask people questions. That\\\'s what I did, I got plenty of information that helped me A LOT going through this process.
