My Fiance's visa was approved a couple of weeks ago. As a thank you to everyone on this board who helped us tremendously, I am posting a brief synopsis of her experience. I hope this helps someone even a small % of how much this board has helped us.
My Fiance went to window 7. had a youngish man who first:
Q: asked her in english if she wanted to be interviewed in Thai or English?
A: She said Thai, but asked in english.
Q: He then asked (in Thai) how and in what language we communicate?
A: She said we speak every day on the phone, skype, or facebook. And that we speak in english, but she is nervous and feels more strongly interviewing in Thai.
Q: He then showed her my phone Bill and asked her if she knew what is was?
A: she said it was my very expensive phone bill because I call her too much. He laughed.
Q: He then took out some pictures and asked her to tell her where they were taken and who we were with.
A: She was there so she knew
Q: What does he do for a living?
Q: Why did he get divorced form his last wife.
A: She answered that we were still friends and weren't good married (true)
Q: Where will you stay when you get there?
Q Do you want to work, what will you do?
A: she said that she will go to english school first and then see what she can do.
Q: When will you get married?
A: She answered once we get the visa we will plan a small wedding
Q: He's over ten years older than you?
A: She answered smartly: Yes, but my dad is over ten years older than my mom and they love eachother and have a great daughter. He laughed again.
There were a couple more questions. But it seems that he wanted to make sure she knew what was in the package we sent and was sincere about going.
The two people before her at the same window were sent away with requests for more information.
So, be meticulous with your paper work and make sure your Fiance understands everything you send or give him/her. Have him/her be nice and courteous to the interviewer and make sure your fiance is comfortable with the whole process.
At the end, he said something along the lines of: everything is in perfect order, you are very sweet and did very well. Good luck, your visa will be ready to pick up in two days.
The whole thing took under 5 minutes.
