Review Topic: K1 Visa

Well, I finally had my K1-Visa Interview today in Frankfurt.
The appointment was scheduled for 7.30 a.m.
Therefore I had to arrive already one day in advance to make it that early.
I stayed in the hotel Friedberger Warte, which is right behind the embassy.
I probably arrived there by 7 a.m. and was number three in that line.
They opened up the building by 7.30 though.
The lady at the window asked for the appointment letter and my passport. Then she crossed my name out from a list and gave me a number.
Then I had to go to another line. One officer asked for this little sheet with the number on it again and then the first three were allowed to enter the building.
Then the procedure started. We had to take off the jackets and put them in a box with all the rest of our carry-on's. Then we had to go through the metal detactor, like at the airport. All of those guys were pretty nice. One of them took my umbrella and a cd out of my back and gave me a number instead of that back.
Another guy welcomed us and send us to the next building.
This was the time when we arrived at the big kind of trainstation looking building. We had to take a seat and after a really short time my number was already called and I went to that famous window number 23.
They asked again for my passport, a picture and I had to show prove that I have paid the visa fee. Then the lady handed me a big envelope and told me to put my home address and stamps (4,25 €) as well on it. No problem. I was totally compared and did not have to use their stamp-mashine. But they do have one their.
Then she told me to sit down again and wait until my number get called again.
After 10 minutes I got called to window nr. 18 and there was another lady who went over my application with me. She asked if I had already done the doctors examination (of course) and then she checked, where I am living and asked me for my birth and police certificate and for the affidavid of support of my fiancé. Then she wanted to have some effidence for that. My fiancé had send me everything. I handed it in to her and she told me everything is looking just fine. She explained all the steps after I got approved to the visa and all the things that will happen after I entered the US.
After talking to her, I had to sit down again.
Maybe 10 minutes later I got called to window nr. 16. There was a very nice officer and he said, that everything is looking fine on the papers. He wanted me to swear an oath and I did.
And then he asked me how me and my fiancé have met. I told him and he said;" well, okay. That is it for you here at the embassy today. We are going to send the visa by mail and it should arrive in two weeks from now on."
I was so surprised that i had to ask him, if I really can leave or if I have to wait again. He said no you are done today here. And I left maybe at about 8.30.
That was the whole interview.
