Juarez, Mexico | Review on May 29, 2012: | CasillasMoni

Sorry for the long wait to write this review.
My fiance and I meet almost 3 years ago. We became engaged in May 2011. Started this process in June 2011 when my fiance was caught by the Indio, CA police in which they called Immigration. Of course they deported him and he left voluntary. He returned home in Puebla, Mexico. We live in Coachella, Ca.
It took forever to get the ball rolling in our case. I even had to get my Congresswoman involved to get the Packet 1 approved. (Thank you to all that suggested to do this).
He had his 1st interview March 22, 2012. I have been working with a non-profit office that we have here in Palm Springs to do everything. They are ok but got alot of information on this site to push my case through with them.
During my finance's departure we have been visiting every 3 months in Mexicali, Mexico were my Grandmother lives. I meet him there a few days before his interview and to have the office finalize his packet since I needed some documents from him. Don't trust the Mexican postal service. I learned this the hard way. Use DHL instead. We both flew to Juarez from Mexicali. We had no direct flight so we had to get a connection which took us 9 hours to get to Juarez.
Arrived Juarez on March 20,2012. Had a bit of a scare in Juarez airport because they are always asking for ID's (and all Mexican airports do this.) I showed them my American passport and it had no stamp entering into Mexico. I told the officer that I entered through Mexicali and they don't stamp passports there. Luckly I am also a Mexican citizen through my dad and I showed them my Consulate card from Mexico and they let me go.
Took a taxi to Hotel Ibris. Cost was about $25 US. Our hotel was in a perfect location in the middle of both medical clinics and walking distance to everything. The rooms were small but I paid $35 per night through Expedia.com. Staff was very nice. As soon as we arrived we walked around to get to know where everything was at. All the Mexican security guards were very friendly and told us where to go and other tips. They even told us about the COYOTES!!!! BEWARE!!!! They are everywhere. Went to get dinner at the mall across the street and called it a day.
March 21, 2011 my fiance woke up super early and left our room by 4:30am. He told me that their was already a few people there. He went to Clinica Internacional. But the line grew long very quickly. They opened the doors to the clinic at 5:45. Did his exam and was back in our room at 9am. They tried to trick him that he needed some shots but luckly I warned him that they might try to do this. Fiance visa DO NOT NEED shots. Just be nice to everyone that you come in into contact in any of the offices. They can make things harder for you.
We had to return at 2pm for the results but arrived at 1pm in line. It does not matter what time you arrive. He was one of the last ones to exit the building with the results. We had his finger print appointment at 2:30 which we were 10 minutes late due to picking up his results. I don't recommend doing 2 things in one day. Or we should have scheduled the fingerprints later in the day.
March 22, 2012 was the big day. His appointment was at 7am. We arrived at the Sala de Espera 30 mins. before his appointment. No need to arrive any other time earlier. I returned to our room and my fiance got back to our rooms at 10 am. He said that the officer asked him a few basic questions about us and I even gave him a photo album in case and she did not want to see it.
If course they denied his visa (which we knew due to him entering illegally) and they handed him the blue sheet saying that he qualified for a wavier. He is scheduled for the wavier June 19, 2012. We left Juarez that same day since I did not purchase returning tickets to Mexicali.
Overall I would take all needed papers and copies of everything. Remain calm and pray during the entire process. I hope that my fiance will return home very soon. Good luck to everyone in their process.
