Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
The other reviews on here were VERY helpful. I will try to not duplicate anything but point out new information that will be helpful.
We arrived at the embassy around 6:00 AM for our 7:00 appointment. This was the time when they started opening up the overall line and splitting into the four different lines. We walked directly to line 3 (THANK YOU VISA JOURNEY!) and we were the very first ones in line 3 and the very first ones they processed through. IMPORTANT ITEM: The entire interview process happens outside; you will be standing outside talking through glass windows to folks sitting inside. There is cover in case it rains and there is a Coffee Stand (Cafe Iguana) and a Crepes & Waffles but I wasn't expecting to be outside the whole time. As others stated, they gave us the laminated page with the order of the documents they wanted. IMPORTANT ITEM: DS-230 was NOT listed on that sheet, but at the window, the lady asked us for the first two pages of the DS-230 and luckily we did have it (THANK YOU VISA JOURNEY!) When we got to Window 30 for the organization of our papers, like lots of folks on here we had EVERYTHING documented and we had everything very well organized, but we had all of our papers organized in those plastic sheet protectors. We had to pull everything out of the sheet protectors. IMPORTANT ITEM: Have your papers organized and out of the plastic sheets and bring your own black/blue pen. Once she went through all of the documentation, she sent us over to the Iguana Cafe coffee stand to wait to be called. We had a cup of coffee and a bunuelo and less than 30 minutes later they called her name. IMPORTANT ITEM: The speaker system isn't very clear and everyone is outside so you need to listen carefully when announcements are made. I have nothing new to add from a question perspective, they asked about 7 - 10 questions but if you read the other embassy reviews you will be very well prepared. Seriously, every question they asked was listed in other Embassy Reviews. At the end of the process they said "Your visa has been approved." Two weeks and it will arrive via DHL. Happy to answer any other questions!
