Did all the paperwork ourselves and worked as a team to get the visa approved. Took almost exactly 6 months to get the K1 approval with no RFE's. I went over the paperwork with my Thai fiancee the night before and asked her some of the common questions and she did fine and apparently did fine at the interview as well.

The process went really fast- received I-797 approval around the last week of Feb and she had her interview on April 11.

She was the second called up and told me after the interview that the girl before her didn't know her boyfriends full name and was asked other questions by the embassy clerk and he kept stating "incorrect" before he told her to have a seat. She did not speak good english so guys, make sure you are going to marry a girl with an education and not someone out of the bar who didn't finish high school. If you have to say same-same do not get married.

Petitioner is still not allowed in. Fee for medical was about 3500 baht including 2 shots.

Make sure you pay the correct interview fee as it is no longer $151 as stated in the instructions.

Also, be aware that we never received any sort of packet, just a brief letter (in english only) for "packet 3 and 4" that gave a web address (that part english and thai) to where you could get the forms and where to send them. Not sure what you would do without a computer and a printer!

All in all it was an ok experience but I am glad its over. I wish they had some sort of documentation in Thai because my fiancee cannot read english anywhere near the level she can speak it.
