We were scheduled for an appointment with an exact time.
I believe it was 9:30 am.
We were there on time but had be sitting in a waiting room with about another 20 people until our name is called (my wife's actually). About 45 minutes lasted and then the interviewer - a lady in her forties - came out the door and asked for my wife. We followed her to her cubicle (yes, it was a cubicle) and sat in front of her desk. The interviewer was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. She did not ask us many personal questions. She was mostly checking the documents in the file. She asked if we can add more. I had originally sent them multiple supporting documents, including numerous bills and statements with both names on them. After she asked us, I pulled out the latest statements of a couple of bills and handed them to her.
She smiled and said that everything looks good. She said my wife Kristina was approved - both applications (I-130 and I-485) were immediately approved - and that Kristina will get her Green Card via mail in the next 30 days. The interviewer also took Kristina's passport and put the I-551 stamp (for 1 year) on it in case she needs to travel overseas and the Green Card hasn't arrived yet.
And that was it.
It was short and easy.
