Ankara, Turkey | Review on April 4, 2012: | lonelyinFL
Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
She arrived in front of the Embassy @ 7:30am. They admitted her @ 8:30am. Took her passport, medical report, visa fee receipt, and photos. She requested to have the interview in turkish. She waited till 11:15 for her interview. Consulor officer greeted her in turkish. Interviewed her in turkish. Consulor officer asked for bank records and latest phone records. He asked her 2 questions. How did we meet initialy? Why does she want to marry me? After her answers: congratulations, welcome to the united states. Please go to the UPS windows to arrange for shipment of your passport. That's it, no rudeness, no forcing her to speak english, very brief. Now we get to start our lives together.
There is a lot of misinformation going around about this embassy/consulate. Provide an email address when you apply for K1. Update your email address if you need with NVC after NOA2 b4 they send out your package to Ankara. As far as I know, ankara only communicates via email. There is no way to reach anyone over the phone. Instructions for K1 visa application to ankara is on their website. Follow those instructions, they are very clear, there should be no need to ask questions. Throughout this process we have not seen package 3, package 4 blah blah BS.
