Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

we arrived on time and waited for maybe 15 minutes to be called into the office by the AOS Interviewer and she swore us in to tell the truth. She invited us to sit and started asking all the basic questions listed in the declaration on the I-485 form. We had to sign one or two documents as I was represented by a lawyer but he was not present so that required a form to be signed acknowledging that fact. She had a very pleasent nature and her manner helped us relax considerably. Questions about our relationship ranged from how it begun to what stage we are at now and whats happening in our lives ie., buying a house, my seeking work, how am I enjoying living in the USA. She asked for some confirmations of my wifes submissions on the Sponsorship form, tax forms etc., for the past 4 years, letter from employer, that kind of thing then she asked about photos of our wedding. She went out of the room briefly and returned once again sitting down and then handed me my passport which had the form I-94 removed and she proceededto show us and explain the detail of my I-551 stamp and that it was conditional due to our length of time married. All in all the experience was one of a very professional young officer working hard at getting her answers yet at the same time showing great compassion towards us knowing that the whole experience is one of stress and anticipation. She is truly a very talented young officer who I am sure will generate many nice comments in the future from anyone that goes before her. Thanks again Hartford USCIS.
