The interview process was rather fast and easy. As long as you have all your documentation in order, there should be no problem. There were only a couple of questions that threw my Fiancee off guard. She was asked how I received my citizenship, I never explained that part to her. They also asked her a couple of questions about my tax return forms. She had no real answer for either question, however her reaction was honest and controlled. It seems to me that the interviewer is more concerned with reaction rather than the answers.
I bought our tickets a month ago. Our interview was on Friday, and I bought the tickets for the Saturday of the following week. I was lucky enough to receive the visa the day before, but I would recommend to wait until you have the visa before buying tickets just in case there is a delay.
