Appointment was on 10:15. We arrived there a little before 10am and waited in the waiting room. We were called at around 10:50 and a nice lady officer invited us to her room. First she introduced herself and took our oath. Then we sat down and she asked my husband his for personal info and ID (he's the USC). Then she asked me for my info (name, date of birth, parents name etc, when I entered the US last time and where). Then she started asking me the questions from the I485 and on the first one there was a problem. On part 3 question number C you need to list organizations you were a member of, and I wasn't in any so I wrote "none", but I didn't notice that it included military and I did serve in the military and I did answer yes on the specific questions about the military and weapon training and even attached a letter explaining what I did. It was an honest mistake. So at the beginning she was kinda mean about it but she kept asking the questions and reached to the ones where I said "yes" so she was fine with it. Then she asked my husband how we met and how many time we've seen each other and when, and when he proposed to me and we filed for the K1 and he started getting confused with the dates cuz he's like that, he never remembers details and I tried to help him but the officer told me not to speak! But then he remembered and she nodded. Then we showed her the wedding pictures and she asked where was it and who attended (both parents and families and friends).
After that I could tell she is relaxed and that she knows we're cool. Then she asked for the papers that shows we have a bonafide marriage and we showed her joint checking and saving bank accounts statements, power and utilities bills with both our names and our car insurance with both our names. Mu husband owns the house we live in so we couldn't show any lease.
Then she explained about the removal of conditions and that we need to save all the evidence of our joint life from now on till the ROC interview because they would want to see a lot more then. She said we're approved, we saw her put the approved stamp on my papers and she gave us an approval letter. She said the GC will arrive in 2-4 weeks.
I asked if I can get the GC stamp on my passport in the mean time because I have an important wedding in Israel on April 1st but she said that it's not possible and they only do it for real emergencies. She said I have to wait until the GC arrives in the mail and can't leave the country until then.
I was kinda disappointed that I couldn't get the stamp. But at least 2 hours later I already got and email that they sent my approval letter.
All in all it was fine, the lady was mostly nice and I could see that she only tried to make sure we have a real relationship. Thank god it's over though
