Very pleasant experiance.
I had an AOS interview on Feb 1st, 2012.
I arrived with my wife about an hour early, the guys at the front door checked our interview letter, then told us where the USCIS office was. We checked in with the reception, and took a seat. My name got called right at our appointment time..
The lady was nice, but serious throughout the interview. She only asked us a couple of questions. where did we meet, had I met her family, where was the wedding? We told her we got married in the SF city hall. Our families were not present, and we didn't exchange rings... but that didn't seem to bother her.
We had a full binder with photos and additional documents, but she didnt want to see them when we offered.
She made a couple of notes, and corrected a couple of things on my i-485 (mistakes I had made).. then told us we would receive a letter telling us their decision. I checked the USCIS website later that day, and it said 'Card production'!!! YAYY!!! javascript:emoticon('')
We never received a letter, but i did receive my green card in the mail about 2 weeks later!
We were very nervous leading up to the interview, but in the end, if you tell the truth and show that the marriage is genuine... you will have no problems.
