My husband had his interview at the Amsterdam consulate on February 27th, 2012. The interview was scheduled for 1:30, and he arrived early, just before 1 pm. Because he was so early, they told him to scram until closer to 1:30, so he went and had a coffee and came back to he consulate at around 1:15 pm. He was second in line, and once inside had to wait an hour to be seen. Once it was his turn, he was told to sign his DS-230 Part II, and was asked a few basic questions - where and when did you meet your wife, when did you get married, and they asked a question about why one of the police certificates had been unobtainable (we had a reasonble justification which they immediately accepted.). Once that was done, the consulate took his passport and told him he would have his passport with visa within a week. Yesterday the passport was delivered to his local post office, and my husband picked it up today - four working days after the interview. Overall it was an easy, relaxed, non-stressful experience. Now it's just a matter of finding an affordable one way ticket!
Thank you to everyone on VJ who has helped us with this process. We couldn't have done it without you.
