Costa Rica | Review on February 24, 2012: | kryomek

My fiance went by himself to the interview......I have an 8 year old daughter in school, and my fiance and I have a one year old daughter, who was actually born in CR while I was living there in Costa Rica with him. I recently came back in late october to the US, and saw no reason to go to the interview. I had called the embassy to make sure I did not have to go, and they said, that if I was really needed, they would reschedule his interview, and ask me to fly out......
He got there at 12 noon, as they told him to. He says when they first called him, they asked him to write MY name and DOB on a paper?, then they only asked for his DS156, and affadavit of support. He then waited inside with the other couples, when they finally called him up a second time, they asked him where he has worked before, what he might work in in the US. And if he speaks english (he does NOT) But I speak spanish..Also they asked why I was not at the interview, and he told them why. He said they just said, "ok, ok, no problem" They also asked where we had met. He told them where and when.. they wanted his other papers from the list....they did NOT ask to see my original divorce paper, or anything of mine.......they said go ahead and take a seat, and my fiance asked if they wanted to see any evidence of our relationship (LOL)
they said, no its not necessary! He said he wanted to show them some pics anyway. He showed them a photo of when our daughter was born at home in CR, and he says the lady laughed and asked whose idea it was to have a home birth? And was very interested, and extremely nice to him, and joked with him a bit. He also showed them pics of the kids here with santa claus.......(this in no way proves our relationship with each other LOL)
They fingerprinted him, and he did the oath, signed those papers
and they told him to come back mondayjavascript:emoticon('') and get the visa if everything checks out!!!
(i assume this means his prints??)
He did see 4 other couples denied! One couple had something show up on their medical exam it seems, and left VERY upset..
Another couple had a big age gap, and he said they were denied. He is only ASSUMING is was because of this, he overheard them asking how this was going to work out with such an age difference..
Another couple was being questioned ALOT about her family members here in the US, they kept going back and forth, asking questions, telling them to wait, etc. Finally came back and said they would call them or something to that effect.
Another couple was denied, because the USC had been divorced like 4 times or something. Again, this is just the bits and pieces he overheard, I nor he can say one way or the other, exactly what happened with them.
I hate to hear of their denials, we all know what hard work this all ismy fiance as you can imagine was VERY nervous when it came his time...lol...
