Arrived at the embassy at 8 am (was scheduled for 8.30). Got through security pretty fast and entered the visa immigration office at 8.15 am. I was directed to window G right away, where a sweet young Swedish woman recieved my documents (police records, birthcerticicate, I-34, and Aaron's employer letter and latest tax transcript). She had me sign my DS forms while asking me a few questions about my previous J1 visa and also about my name change in 2001 (when I was baptized I added an extra middle name). Sadly, I did not bring my name change document- but she said it would not be a problem and that I could just send it in later.
Then I sat down for 5 min before I was called to the interview by the consular. He was a bit authoritarian at first, but ended up making jokes etc.
Questions:
How did you meet?
When did you see him IRL first time?
Has he been to Denmark?
Tell me about Huntington Beach? (talked about how I would end up getting killed in trafic and if I really wanted to go!) lol
What does Aaron do?
Who does he train, names?
What did he study,
Where did he study?
Which teams has he played football for?
Where is Amarillo?
What does Aaron's mom do for work?
What does Aaron's dad do for work?
What does your mom do?
what does your dad do? (made another joke)
What do you study?
All in all, it must have taken around 10 min before he said, ok Mrs J... everything looks good! If you just make sure to send us the name change document and an official translation of it, you should have your visa within some weeks. They kept my passport and I was out at 8.45 am I brought so much evidence, but they didnt care to look at a single picture lol. I still recommend bringing it though.. just in case!
