We had an appointment for our AOS interview on February 3, 2012 at 1:00pm. We arrived at around 11:30 (super early, I know). There's parking at the back of the building for $6. There's a mall in front of the building, but parking is $16, and there's another one beside it, but it's for $8, so if you're frugal, look for the $6 one, it's not that far anyway. It's not hard to fine because it has a big sign, and it's off the freeway.
On the entrance of the building is a metal detector, so I guess don't bring anything that you don't really need. Then, we went on to the 8th floor and gave our appointment letter. At that point, all we had to do is wait for our name to be called.
At 1:30 pm, we were finally called. Our interview is a very jolly African-American woman, who made us feel very at ease. From the very start of the interview, she was all smiles and laughs, and the interview was quite informal, like we were just telling stories. It was fun.
She asked us papers/documents that will prove our relationship ever since I got the US, so my husband commenced to look for it while she asked me questions.
- What's your name?
- Address? Date of birth?
- Name of mother and father?
- How did we meet?
That's basically it. LOL. Once she asked the "How did we meet?" question, we went on chit chat mode, and after that was done, she basically told us that if she needs extra evidence, we'll hear from them in 2 weeks, and if not, then expect to receive the green card in 30 days. Well, she didn't really say that we were approved, but we kinda felt good about it.
After eating in a restaurant for lunch as celebration, we went home and I checked my case status online. It said Card/Document Production which made me smile BIG! Yey! So that was our interview experience. The only thing bad I can say is the wait, but it's all good.
Good luck everyone!
