Pittsburgh PA | Review on February 1, 2012: | estrellas
Rating: | Review Topic: Adjustment of Status
We sent out everything in late September, got the notice of action within two weeks and the biometrics appointment on October 31st. We went to York, PA to have the biometrics. It was fast, not busy, and the people there were nice. It is a little hard to find, since it is in the back of the prison building.
The interview was in late January, so three months after we filed. We brought EVERYTHING we had in our file: the exact copies of the documents we sent, pictures from the wedding and from our 5 years together.
The interview was short, nice, and to the point. The officer just asked how we met, for how long, and asked to see our recent bank statement. We have a joint account, we showed bills that have the same address proving that we live together. We brought our actual lease, but also we brought a copy of the lease of our first apartment, where we lived 2 years before we married. We did not think about it and we did not bring it along, but if you have health insurance or car insurance together bring a copy with you.
She said it was approved. She emphasized the fact that we will need to file again in two years, since we do not receive an official letter telling us to file. So, that was a good tip.
The only thing I would recommend about the Pittsburgh office, especially if you are not from town, is that you drive by the office before your interview. It is not that hard to find, but it is definitely worth it to check out the area and to calculate how far you are from your hotel to the building. We had an early appointment (9 a.m.) and we went the night before and it was a little tricky, since we missed one of the exits and that threw off the directions on googlemaps. the actual interview was on time, and we did not have problems.
