Our interview went well, nothing stood out. We both attended the interview. When we were called to the first window, the lady commented that our file was huge( with proof of relationship). That they couldn't place it where the files usually go, that they had to find another place to store it. She also said that we shouldn't of sent so much. On the contrary I thought, being that USCIS asks for proof of relationship as well. After she gave us back all documents she didn't want and complained about getting pricked by a staple, she then said to go to the DHL counter, then to sit down and wait for our number to be called again. Overall she was friendly and joked with my husband and I. Then we called again and he did his fingerprints, then back to our seats and waited for the interview. When the room was almost cleared out and 3-4 couples were left, they finally called our number.
The following is the questions we were asked:
- asked him when we met
- asked him where we met
- asked him when did we meet in person
- asked him when did we get married
- asked him if he had been married before (NO)
- asked me if I had been married before (YES)
- asked me when I got divorced
- asked me did I have kids from my previous marriage
- asked me when my daughter was born
- asked him what kind of work he would do in the US
- asked him where he worked and his work title (Accountant)
- asked him if he had asked for a visa before
- asked him if he had ever travel before to the US (NO, but travel to Europe a lot for Karate work)
- asked me when and how I had come to the US (1980s migrated w my parents)
- asked me when I became a citizen (2003)
- asked us to show her what proof of relationship we had (we showed her 3yrs
of emails and chat logs from different dates
- asked me how many times we had met since we got married (7 times in Egypt & 1 time in
Spain since 2008)
- asked me how long each stay was
- asked me why did I do short visits (1-2wks usually because of work)
- asked us if we had pictures from my visits and tell her who was in the pictures
(she giggled a few times because my husband n I would say the same things at the
same time)
- asked me where I worked and what did I do/work title (Export Market/Office Manager)
- asked me when I had arrived and how long I was staying (she seemed
sympathetic n understood I had a job and could stay longer usually)
- she asked me if I wanted my husband to come to the US (yesssss very much)
After she was done with the questions, she said we had a very credible marriage. She continued by saying our case would go through AP. I asked her how long because I was leaving in 2 weeks and we wanted to travel back together. She explain that she couldn't tell us a time frame. But that I shouldn't worry because she was making a lot of notes and that they would see at her notes at the POE. That I could travel back to the US without any worries and that he could travel alone. That was it. We were done. The embassy kept his passport. We are both Muslim and have a two(2)year difference in age. A lot of the questions we mostly directed to me, not my husband.
