So here goes my review of my visa interview experience...or what I can remember.
I made it to the MLC centre about an hour before my interview. So I grabbed a coffee and sat outside until 8.30. I made my way up to level 10 and through to the security area. I checked my bags and waited for the elevator to the 59th floor. I made my way to the heavy door. And yes it is a bit heavy. Upon entering I took a number and waited to be be called to hand in my documents. This wait took about half an hour. It was pretty busy by the way. maybe about 6 or 7 other people waiting.

So I handed in my documents, had my fingerprints scanned and went and sat back down and waited to be called for my interview. There were 2 counters, one with a young gentleman and one with a younger lady. The one thing that I found strange though was everybody's interview can be heard by everyone waiting. It is all done over loudspeakers as the interviewers are behind glass.

So after sitting there for another half an hour my name was called. I was SO nervous. I did catch a glimpse of my file at the first stage of processing and I did notice that the I-134 was highlighted with a not on it. So all the time i was waiting and during my interview I thought I was not going to be approved and they would need more info from me.

So the interview began, but at the start I saw my passport and it had a slip of paper in it. It was about the size of a half piece of A4 paper, but i could not see what as written on it. Anyway, the questions were the same basic ones as most other people have. He asked how we met, I said facebook. He asked was it just a random thing. I said Yep. But basically nothing hard or difficult to answer. But when he said congratulations....i almost cried. I had to ask several time to make sure i was not dreaming. So then i took my piece of paper saying approved and went downstairs to call my fiancee.

BUT....one thing....make sure you have EVERYTHING you need. Of the all of the people I saw interviewed before me only 1 person was said yes to. Everyone else was asked to send in something. And I know if i was asked to send something back in it would have broke my heart.
