Oct. 14 I met up with my Husband in Saltillo, Coahuila took a bus ride to Ciudad Juarez 16 long hours uggghhh.
Oct. 15 we got a taxi to take us to our hotel(Paid 180 pesos)We got to the Hotel La Quinta Inn (Loved the hotel and staff) and we slept for a little bit then went to the mall (Across the consulate)the hotel shuttle took us and picked us up for free.
Oct. 16 Husband went to medical at 5:30 a.m hotel shuttle took him he got back at around 7 a.m and was told to go back the next day at 4 to pick up the results. he has tattos so they did a psycological exam on him (he said it was a joke they only asked him if he did drugs and what were the meaning of his tattos and she never looked at him or let him finish his sentences.)
Oct. 17 picked up results
Oct. 18 My Husband went to his visa interview but he didnt do the finger prints before because we didnt know he had to do it before the lawyer didnt tell us. he was told to go do the fingerprints and they would reschedule him we were so worried that it would be reschedued for months later but they scheduled him for the following day.
Oct. 19 went to interview and they said they needed his proof of entrance back into mexico which was included in all the paperwork but she said it was not the right one. (The paper was signed by the superviser at the border when he went back in 2010 it was the right paper.) so we called the lawyer he wrote them a letter and we submitted the same paper thru dhl because they would not let him turn it in at the consulate it had to go thru dhl. The only questions they asked him was whos petitioning for you who are Aliyah and Andres (Our kids)and thats it
Oct. 20 tracked the paper we sent consulate received it at 8:15 a.m called consulate and they said instruction would be sent to us in 1-3 business days there was nothing else we could do but wait.
Oct.21-23 nothing
Oct. 24 received a waybill number went to dhl picked up packet and was told it was still the wrong paper according to them. called the lawyer again he called the consulate took all day and he finally told that we should receive further instructions thru dhl and would take 1-3 days
Oct. 25-27 nothing but i kept calling consulate and they said it was under review
Oct. 28 called consulate the person i talked to said everything was fine that was the right paper all along he didnt know why we had that problem when the whole time there was really nothing missing he apologized and said we were eligible for waiver and if i wanted to set up the appt. with him. I set it up the earliest he had was dec. 22
we left the hotel Oct 29
Dec. 21 Husband got to hotel la quinta around 3 pm and relaxed all day
dec 22. husband left to consulate at 6:45 appt. was at 7:30 he got there went in and was told to turn in the papers when he turned the papers in they didnt ask him any questions except if he had his passport and to turn it in they kept it and then they told him he would receive his response thru dhl and could take anywhere from 2-10 week. Husband asked so i dont get answer right now and she said no it would come thru the dhl then was told to go pay.
*that was our experience at ciudad juarez for Visa and Waiver appointment.* i reccommend La quinta because it has a free shuttle service, free wireless internet throught out the WHOLE hotel, free breakfast, laundry (35 for washer 35 pesos for dryer) If you go to lq.com their website and reserve earlier its cheaper we paid about 45 dollars a night and our rooms also had a refridgerator and microwave so we wernt always ordering food we would go buy microwavable things.if you have centerpoint energy for your gas provider or electricity they give you a code for 15% off for la quinta and if you have a SAMS CLUB card you get 10% off but you have to show you Sams Club card when you check into the hotel.
