My fiance arrived to the Embassy around 8am. He said he checked in and the officer took his documents from him. He then went to a waiting lounge where he sat for 4 hours until his number was called. He says the interviewers are located in the back of the lounge behind glass windows. There are about 7 counters where they all sit. The rows of chairs where the applicants sit have their backs to these counters. However, when called, its easy for the people closest to the windows to hear everything that is being said--so, no real privacy there.

My fiance said that many people were rejected rudely because their English was poor and the officer couldn\'t communicate (they would ask \"how can you have a relationship and you can\'t communicate with each other?\"). So, its a huge advantage to speak good English. He even witnessed an elderly woman get turned away (could have been someone\'s grandmother--so rude).

Anyway, he was one of the last people called to be called. He went up there and the man behind the counter (green-eyed, American guy) asked him only a few questions.
-Where did you meet?
-What do you have in common?
-Is your fiance American (idiotic question considering they have my birth certificate showing that I was born in St. Louis, Missouri!)

My fiance speaks perfect English, so it was easy for him to answer. There were no extra questions. He was surprised after hearing how others were questioned so harshly (he said one guy was asked to bring another police record simply because he had been out of work for two months and he could have \"done something\" in between that time---*wow, really???* Another girl was told to come back in two months with more recent photos\")

Well, the interview took about 3-4 minutes. He was approved and given a little slip to carry to the UPS counter. He paid 15TL for the shipping. His passport arrived to the house 3 days later.

Really happy we got through this---if anyone has questions--just shoot a message

Hope this helps!
