Review Topic: K1 Visa

Even if they give you a time, that will not be the time you are interviewed. If you are any time in the morning (anytime from 7-12), get there at 6:30. MAKE SURE YOU DRESS NICE!!!

For immigrant visa you don\'t have to wait in line, you just wait in the room. They will give you a green card.

Have your driver\'s liscene to scan.

When you go through the scanner, give them back the card that is green.

Really unorganized at the window. The person will ask for passport. Then fingerprints. Then tax return form. Then medical exam. Need real proof of residency. Need real birth certificate. I-134 form. Real police certificate. Real recept for visa fee (white paper, not the blue one). Then proof of relationship. If you have letters, have the envelope.

To make it easier, come with each section of information in a separate folder.

Now you will wait about 2 hours before they start interviewing. You have to wait for the interviewer to get there. Each interview was about 20 minutes, and it does not matter what your interview time was; you will wait in random order. Eat before you go if you don\'t want to starve. Wear a coat because they keep the temperature very cold. Bring a book with you to keep your mind off of things because you will wait a really long time.

Just to let you know, Ice got that legendary girl who is really difficult. She looks just like this girl: www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7IireBsC3Q#t=2m21s

Randomly the interviewer would just leave to take breaks. She came back in the room chewing 30 minutes later at one point.

Listen to the speaker carefully because it is very muffled sounding. Sit near the front so you can hear it better. He said you can see others being interviewed because the window is clear.

For the interview, MAKE SURE YOU SPEAK ONLY IN ENGLISH even if they speak to you in Thai. If you have been to the US, make sure you know everything you did there and when you went for each time. Know your past really really well. They will try to call you out as a liar. About your fiance, be prepared to tell everything from beginning to now in full detail including about the USC family. For the USC visit to Thailand, know the exact date they came and what you all did on exact dates and places. The most important thing for Thailand is the I-134 form. 10 people were in the waiting room with him, and only 2 others other than him were approved. Ice said most of them were denied for financial when he asked them.

Make sure you speak in English slowly and clearly but firmly. Take time to think about what you are going to say because you will get a lot of time to interview anyway. When she asks you about future work, try to make it sound impressive, and answer \"when you permit me to work, then____\"

She asked him these questions:
1.) Tell me about your relationship.
2.) How many times have you been to the US?
3.) Why didn\'t you write down that you went to the US in middle school?
4.) Don\'t you think you\'re too young? In America, kids your age should be studying.
5.) Your fiancee has no idea what she\'s doing, giving up her whole life just to do immigration. She should be studying.

He really thought that he was going to be denied because he totally grilled him about our age and how we are too young to get married. But do not worry about it; she is trying to scare you. She will make you feel like you are going to be denied but do not be intimidated. Do not break under pressure. If you really don\'t know an answer, just say \"I don\'t know\" and be honest. Do not try to make things up. If she asks why you don\'t know, tell her why you don\'t know.

Then she asked him \"when do you plan to go to America?\" then he said \"when you permit me to go.\" Then she said \"well, then I will authorize your visa so you can pick it up tomorrow, so you can leave tomorrow night.\"

I waited 6 hours for him to be done with the interview. I rated the consulate poorly because of the lack of organization, ESPECIALLY when we were communicating through email in the weeks before the interview.
