Our visa interview on Nov 22 has been approved.
Here is the review:
We had our interview scheduled for 9am and we arrived in front of the embassy about 8:40am. People started to wait in the line and 2 guards were checking their interview letters. While we were about to walk to the end of the line, the guard asked if we have appointment and I told him that I am a U.S. Citizen and do have an appointment. He quickly put us in front of the line so we could enter the building faster.
After the security checked and left our cell phones, we walked into the main building and there is another guard pointed us to get a number. We were told to wait in another room since the 1st room already full with people.
We were called to Counter 9 after about 15 minutes of waiting. One gentleman came and asked for our interview letter and walked away to look for our folder. Then he came back and checked/organized our documents and asked for the medical report. He told us to come back at 1:30pm for interview.
We walked out from the building and it was just 9:10am and we went to KLCC mall to spend our time.
We came back to the embassy about 12:50pm and only a couple was waiting. About 1:10pm, we were allowed to go in and were told by the guard to wait in the 2nd room. After 10 minutes, we were allowed to go into the 1st room and waited there.
As I can tell, there were only 3 immigrant interviews for the afternoon. A few minutes later, we were called to the Counter 5 for fingerprints by an Asian lady and then told us to have a seat again. From there, we were able to see the actual consular officer started to prepare for interviews. He is an Asian and he looked like a Japanese-American. We were the second to be interviewed and the first one before us was unable to get her visa due to the lack of documents.
After a few minutes, we were called to Counter 7 and the consular officer swore us in and started the interview. Here are the questions that he asked:
1. Husband's birth date
2. Husband's birth place
3. Wife's birth date
4. When did you meet your husband?
5. How did you meet your husband?
6. Our wedding date
7. Did our parents attend your wedding?
8. Place of wedding
9. Names of petitioner's parents
10. Husband's live place
11. What kind of the place looks like?
12. Wife married before?
13. Husband married before?
14. Any children?
15. Apply visitor visa before?
After answered these questions and he made a copy of document. He came back and said that the visa is approved and welcomed the beneficiary to U.S.A. He told us to wait outside for instructions of how to pick up the passport. We thank him and felt happy and relief. Less than five minutes later, we were called by a lady to Counter 6. She told us that we can pick up the passport on Fri and gave us a small red card that shows the address and instructions.
We walked out very happy and we left the embassy around 2:30pm. As planned, we will return to the States next weekend.
