Arrived very early at 6:00am, already a line outside. A lot of \\\"buscones\\\" do not pay attention to them. Have your appointment letter ready when you get in line, a person with a yellow \\\"INFO\\\" shirt will give you a ticket with a number which will be the number used to call you to the windows when you are inside. Be prepared for a long wait. Inside there are rows of metal benches which after a few hours become a little uncomfortable.
First we were called to window 13 and had fingerprints done, we sat down for another 45minutes and were then called to window 21 where we deposited the remaining documents that the NVC requested. We sat down for about 2 more hours where we were finally called to window 17 where we were sworn in. The Consular Officer told me to have a seat and once my wife was alone she was asked the following questions:
How did you meet
Husbands date of birth
Husbands siblings
What gift(s) did he bring you for your birthday
What gift(s) did you give him for his birthday
When was the first time you had sex
What did you wear to sleep last night? your husband?
How old is your husband?
What does your husband do for a living?
What does your husband study? where?
Do you have kids?
Have you been previously married?
Consular officer told my wife to sit down and when I was alone, the consular officer asked me the same questions. Visa was approved but the Affidavit of Support was not sufficient.
Even though my year to date income is much higher than the required amount and I have been working in this company since December (11 months), the officer stated that your most recent tax return must meet the minimum amount required by the poverty guidelines AND your current employment must meet the income requirements (contrary to what I read here in visajourney). My approval is pending until I get a joint sponsor who meets these requirements.
UPDATE: I turned in the required documents and received the visa from DOMEX a week later!! javascript:emoticon(\'\')
