Made it in line by 0545 and was first in line for the immigrant visas. waited and turned in all of the required forms and paid the fees. My fiancé and her two daughters (15 and 16) were at the interview. Our interviewer was a younger American woman that was being trained, so he trainer was in the room as well. No problems with any of the questions - they were all softballs like "where did you meet? how long have you been together? what are his children's names?" - stuff like that.
However, we were tripped up on three pieces of paperwork. Since my finacee's oldest daughter turned 16 after we started this process, i failed to realize we needed a police certificate for her too... so we needed to go back to DNIC. we also did not have the correct form of the Honduran birth certificates. Everyone was born in a small village, and the long-form, handwritten certificates were all they had. But these are not the "forma literal" - so we need to go to the registry to get the correct forms. Last, the interviewer requested more proof of the daughters being the daughters of my fiancee. I think this is a mistake, but if they want pictures of them as younger kids, not a problem. I would think all of the other documents are enough, but they want more. Fine, after all this time and paperwork, a few more documents won't be that big of a deal.
I guess now we wait until after they review this additional trivial paperwork. Glad we are not in a hurry.
