Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Really easy, far easier than I thought. Had my appointment at 9am, arrived about 15 minutes earlier, just one other person in front of me, in the immigration line.

The Lady behind the counter, was lovely and pleasant, went through my file, giving me stuff back that they no longer needed, like my originals and the extra tax information that they didn't need. Only ask for my passport with my previous J1 visa in it, also gave her my other passport with my stamps from previous trips to the USA in it. Finger prints were done.

Questions she asked was when are we planning on going to the USA. Said oh you have a child, how old is he, my reply she is two. Does she have a US Passport - yes. Did I bring in a courier envelope - yes. Do I work - No, but my boss is tough (referring to my child), Also said the address my green card is going to go too (couldn't say my mother-in-laws name, which I corrected her) Okay great it all look good, an officer will need to approve this officially.

Waited maybe 15 minutes if that, called me to my little booth, he was also pleasant. Only asked who my petitioner was, and the relationship, what he does for a living, we does he live, how long we had been married for, said it was all good, and would I like my visa today.

My reply was yes please, waited for about 15 minutes again, before been told that it wouldn't be able to be printed today, but they will put it in the post tomorrow.

So over all, very very easy, I still worried about it for weeks once I got that letter, just didn't want to assume anything.
