Guangzhou, China | Review on November 8, 2011: | Russ and Jie
Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
I will attempt to tell you everything I remember from talking to Jie on the phone last night.
She said she arrived around 7:00am to the consulate and there were many people there. It made her nervous the day before for document turn-in, when she saw some people getting blue slips. Her number for the actual interview was right about the middle. She told me that when anyone came out with having passed their interview, everyone cheered and congratulated them. They were a very supportive group, as they were all there for the same reason.
When her number was called, she sat with a very pleasant American woman that made her feel very relaxed. She spoke Chinese to Jie for the first few questions:
1. Are you a CCP member?
2. Have you ever been a CCP member?
3. Do you speak English? (At this point the woman spoke in English since Jie does speak English.)
4. How did you and your fiance meet?
5. Have you ever been to America?
6. Has your fiance been to China? When? (The officer asked for pictures)
7. Does your fiance speak Chinese?
(I believe it was here when she asked Jie for our e-mails and phone records) Jie had our e-mails in four big binders, so the officer said, that's too many, just give me one. The officer also analyzed our phone call records very carefully.)
That was about it. The whole thing took about 5 minutes.
Jie wanted me to thank everyone for all of the support and help in the VisaJourney community. She said that all of the questions that she was asked, were already posted here and we had practiced.
