My husband just had his interview on Nov. 4th, 2011 and the experience was pretty good overall. He chose to go to the VFS office at 6:30AM that morning and put his belongings in the locker provided. He was bussed over to the consulate and arrived around 7:30AM. He went through security and was fingerprinted. The consulate was VERY crowded, but he was one of the first to arrive and easily got a seat. After waiting a few minutes, his name was called and he went to the window and was asked by an Indian lady, "Who is calling you to U.S.?" and "What does she do?" The lady then gave him back all of the originals that had been submitted to NVC and told him to wait until his name was called for the interview.
He waited about 1.5 hours and just as he was going into the bathroom his name was called. He skipped the bathroom and ran over to the window. He was interviewed by an American lady and an Indian lady. These are the questions they asked:

1) Who is calling you to U.S.?
2) What does she do?
3) How did you meet?
4) Why was she in India?
5) Who is your co-sponsor?
6) What does your co-sponsor do?
Then they asked a ton of questions about the wedding and really grilled him about it. He was a little upset by this, but just remained calm and answered the questions.
7) Do you have photos of the wedding? (he showed her the studio photos and she said, no the photos of the ceremony) We got married at the courthouse in India so we didn't have ceremony photos, just photos of our reception at home. He showed her all of those and she seemed satisfied.
8) Why didn't she do Mendhi?
9) Did her family come for the marriage?
10) You have a baby together?
11) When was the baby born?
12) Do you have a birth certificate for the baby with your name on it as the father?

That was all they asked. He said it went very quickly and was pretty easy. She said, "your visa is approved and you can pick it up in a few days from the VFS office." My husband asked if he could pick it up that evening and they said yes at 5:30PM. Then he went back to the VFS office and waited around most of the day to pick up his visa that evening. He was given back his passport and the "do not open" envelope. Now he is on his way from India to Seattle to be with me!
