Arrived at 7:15 a.m. for 7:30 interview, went through security with my husband and stepson. Initially I was allowed into the interview area with them but when the staff discovered I was the petitioner, I was asked to wait in the courtyard. After 4 long hours outside, my husband and stepson came out approved. Questions asked (not in order asked but as he can remember them):
1. When and how did we met?
2. How many times did I visit?
3. He was asked to identify people in our wedding album.
4. Asked for copies of my passport pages (I gave him my passport just in case), so they looked through it.
5. Since we met while I was on vacation with his sister, was it his sister's idea that we hook date? How did his sister get her visa?
6. Does he have any other family members in the states?
7. Where do I work? Is it a hospital or outpatient clinic?
8. What airline do I usually fly in on and if my flights are direct?
9. How much do I usually pay for my airline tickets?
10.Since we met in 2008 and his son was born in 2008, what happened with his son's mother?
11. Have I ever travelled to any other country besides Jamaica?
12. Does Airjamaica still fly out of BWI???
My husband said when he walked up to the counter the officer said "okay let's get started" and asked him about 10 questions all in the same sentence. I warned him about this and told him not to be intimidated, stay calm and think before he answered (he was ready for this because I had been quizzing him like this for weeks). My husband said he answered each question slowly and in detail one by one. Most of the questions that were asked came directly from the information that was submitted as evidence of our relationship. Staff was also very nice and the only real stressful part of the whole process was waiting for them to come out!
