I came to Romania to visit my fiancee and it just so happened that our interview was scheduled during the time I would be visiting. We asked the embassy if I would be allowed to come and they said yes and that it is actually better if the fiancee attends. The interview appointment was at 1:00pm, so we arrived a little bit early around 12:15pm just to be safe. But the embassy doesn't allow you to enter for K-1 interview until exactly 1pm, and they do not let you wait outside on the curb. So we walked around the block for an hour. After getting inside, and sitting in the waiting room with about 10 other people, we were called up to 4 different windows at separate times. The first window was to submit our passports, birth certificates, beneficiary documents, petitioner documents, proof of relationship, financial information, sealed doctor's appointment info, etc. The second window was for the beneficiary to be fingerprinted. The third window was to pay the fees. And the last window, we both went up where they "swore us in", asked us how we met, where we would live, and what our plans were. No crazy questions or anything to get excited about, but these windows are all right there in the waiting room so everyone can hear what you say. Then right on the spot the attendant announced that our visa was approved and that we should recieve the actual visa by courier within 1 or 2 days. From the time we entered it took about 1.5 hours, and we were done. Overall it was a very professional and straightforward process.
