We arrived about 5 minutes before the scheduled interview time. After passing through security and putting our letter in the box outside the waiting room we sat down, thinking we would be waiting a long time, since the room was pretty busy.
In fact, about 10 minutes later my name was called and we were greeted by the IO. He was very friendly and led us to the room in which we would be interviewed. He asked me routine questions such as if I'd applied for resident status before and if I'd ever been involved in drug trafficking. He asked how we met and then looked through our documentation (we didn't really have much, just a rental agreement, renters' insurance documents and an invoice from our cat's vet with both our names on it) and then at our photos. He said our paperwork all looked fine and our application was approved, then told us about how long it would take for my green card to arrive and about lifting conditions after two years and applying for citizenship after 3 years (of course I already knew all this after many hours of research, but I let him tell us out of politeness).
The whole interview lasted only about 15 minutes and was an extremely pleasant and easy experience.
