So, Carolina and I were set to have the interview at 7:15AM. We got to the embassy at 5:45, and waited there outside until 7:00AM, and the lady came outside to check pictures and passport of everyone, and gave a password (number). Ours was 304. Around 7:10AM we walked inside the building, where they had a security point to pass through first.

We carried everything. Carolina had her folder full of documents, etc, etc.... I was carrying 2 cases of MSN chat history, one in each hand... We passed through security, took our things and continued up to the 2nd floor where there was an average sized waiting room with about 20 chairs.

We were first to the consulate in the morning, first ones in the door, first ones to have a seat... (we also sat in the front row). :P

We waited, then everyone received instruction on a form they handed the beneficiaries to fill out, with basic information about her and I (name, address, email, case # etc.) Also they handed out a paper for everyone with the order in which to organize your forms. Carolina was sharp as a tack She was first finished, and first to go tell the lady she was finished as well. At one point I looked at our friends who were interviewing the same day and said "She's tough "

Finally we were called to the first set of 2 doors ahead of us (pre interview). This is where they just carefully go through the forms to make sure that everything's right, and the package is there for their reference. The guy asked Carolina a few things through the window.... only looked at ME once.

Once that was through, he instructed her to go downstairs to pay the fee to have the passport delivered back with the visa inside. I gave her money (or she took all my money from my wallet :P) I sat there and waited for her. She came back and we waited some more. Eventually she was called back in to the window at the pre-interview, to show the receipt that she paid the mail service and to get her fingerprints.

Then she came back out and sat with me and we waited until about 9:35AM, and there was our number on the small screen :D *Nerves rush into you and to your feet* We were the 4th interviewed for the day. The officer was sitting behind his window, at his desk and we sat down in the 2 chairs, with a table. Caorlina sat down with her forms and I sat down and put the chat history on our table.

Now, straight to the questions...

How did you guys meet?
C: We first met online in a chatroom, July of last year. Then in person, december of 2010.
What's the name of the chatroom?
C: It's chatforfree.org.
How did you convince him to come to Brazil in such a short time?
C: I don't know, we had a lot in common, became best friends, and it happened.
What did you talk about?
C:We talked about everything, music, bands...*cuts her off*
What's his favorite band?
C: He doesn't really have a favorite band...stone sour.... slipknot... *cuts her off again*
Did you go to Rock in Rio? haha
C: Noo, I didn't *head goes down some* M: *shakes head, head down*
What made you come this far to meet her? (to Matt)
M: uhh... idk, I had to make sure that what we already had online, was true.
(we really didn't have an answer as to WHY we met, haha)
Where did you stay here?
M: At her house in Itaborai.
How many days were you there?
M: uhhh 2..... (twenty something) Let's see.... from december 9th to January 3rd.

You tried a couple times to go to the United States, what happened?
C: I was denied twice on a tourist visa, because I didn't have strong ties to Brazil and not enough documents.

You didn't mention him as your boyfriend?
C: The officer just asked me to repeat the name of my contact in the United States. And I didn't have an option to list him as a boyfriend on the form...
*officer appreciates her honesty*

Where are you going to live in the United States?
C:In Ridgeley, West Virginia..

That's gonna be a huge difference (weather)
C&M: yeaa, *nods heads*

What did you study?
C: Foreign trade college and law college

What do you want to do there besides marry him?
C: Work, when I'm allowed to.

*officer gets quiet*

*puts hands on desk, sighs*

"Well guys... *regretful voice* you are ree-fuuu.... JUST kidding! Hahaha I had to!" *we all laugh* "You're visa is approved, I believe in your relationship... your case is so clear, and I can't think of anything else to ask you guys. It's obvious you want to marry. Congratulations, good luck with your new life.

That's all. It seems long but the questions go by so fast when talking. Typed it seems so much different. It was easy, natural. We loved how he started to tell us we are refused hahaha, we all laughed for about 20 seconds or so LOL.

Overall, very very nice guy. Very honest with HIMSELF, in admitting and knowing our relationship was true. He seemed to be searching for questions but just to be sure that he " went through the motions " :D
