Rating: | Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Our interview was for 7:30am. We got to the consulate at 6:30am, they had us wait across the street. There was no BUSCONES at that time but I did hear that a family of 4 was suckered into paying for an NVC app @800 pesos and more photos @400 pesos a person. At 7:15am the security guards came to get us and told us to line up in line 2. Our lucky number was 754.
We were called into Window 21 @8:20am to deposit police cert., receipt, medical records, passport and cedula. About 2 hours later we were called to Window 13 to have his fingerprints done. 2 hours after that we were called to Window 22 to be interviewed. This charming slightly long hair young fellow asked us if what were our names. He swore us in and then proceeded to ask my husband if he had family in my city. My husband responded "NO". Again he asked if he was related to the mayor in my city (William Lantigua). Again he said no and I responded "Thank God"!! (those who are from Lawrence, MA would know why lol!!) From there I knew we had this!!! He also said that the mayor in my city is more corrupted the the politicians in DR and if he was voted out. I responded you sure know what's going on in my city.. He asked me in english, "Where did I meet him?" I told him where and he responded, "Y este tiguere te conquisto??" and I proudly said "YES!!!" Then he asked my husband what is my occupation, my husband responded. The CO didn't understand and he asked me to specify and so I did. The CO asked me, what was his occupation, what university did he go to and what college did I go to. He then asked for my passport and scanned through it. Then he asked me how many people where at my wedding and who from the US came to the wedding. I replied 15-20 people and that my bff and daughter were present. He asked me to flip thru the album, I told him I had loose photos of the wedding. He also scanned through those also, only paying mind to a picture of my husband and my daughter. The CO asked my husband for her age and name. He also asked if my husband has ever been arrested, and has he ever travel to Venezuela or Haiti. My husband responded I have no business being there and he responded well you'll be traveling cause "SU VISA FUE APROVADO"! My husband grabbed me in a headlock and kissed me. I thanked the CO 100 times!!
