I traveled to Cuba for the interview. We arrived around 6:15am to the park outside the USINT. At maybe 7:00 they called a first group and shortly after the second group of those leaving Cuba permanently. A list of names were called in which my fiance was #106 on that list. He then gave his Cuban ID to the man. We waited for approximately an hour to be told to form a line. At this point they called out the names from the ID's they had taken previously. Then line them assembled outside of the USINT. We were maybe in this line for 45 minutes and entered the security booth around 9:15am. Our cell phones and gel/liquids were taken to be placed in a cubby for return later. The security looked through our binder of evidence quickly (note: if you have envelopes, I suggest removing from your evidence all together as you will have to rip them completely open). There was an additional security point once inside the building. Upon arrival into USINT which resembles a DMV we went to a desk occupied by two women. I was asked to fill out a simple form while my fiance turned over the packet 3 forms and evidence. The woman was extremely nice and conversed with us about my fiance's move to the US and how great it would be for him. We then sat down for the long wait. BRING SNACKS!!! There is only a water dispenser inside of the room. Maybe 15 minutes into our wait we were called to pay for the interview at one of the windows. Shortly after 2pm, Yunier was called and we both proceeded to window. We were greeted and Yunier was asked in what language he preferred to have the interview. i was asked to sit and wait. He said he was asked mostly very general questions in which he answered in great detail..he likes to talk : ) There were also a couple very specific questions asked as well. He came back to sit down and I was asked to come to the window. I was then asked pretty much the same questions. I was asked to take a seat and not a minute later we were both called up and given congratulations and words of good luck that the visa was approved. The interviewer gave Yunier a small piece of paper with his name and date he could pick up the visa (approximately a month later ) Of course i was disappointed that it wouldn't be sooner, but after finding out a friend of Yunier's who had an interview a day later wouldn't receive his visa until November, I felt very lucky. We weren't nervous about the interview and there is no need to be. Let the love in your relationship (evidence too speak for itself!!! Best of luck to those with upcoming interviews. I'm more than happy to answer any additional questions.
