We both attended the interview. It was scheduled for 7:30am. We arrived at the embassy about 6am. Everyone started to line up at the doors around 6:45am. Make sure you get there early since the line quickly grew very long! Once we got inside we were directed where to go. We were soon called up to a window to give our original documents (birth certificate, military record and divorce decree), and she also asked for another 5x5 cm (2x2in) photo. She asked if we were married to each other or have been married before. She asked Amro if he has ever been to the United States and asked if he could travel before December 2011 if the visa is issued. She then directed us to go pay our visa fees and get the DHL slip from the DHL counter. Then we were called to another window to fingerprint Amro. We waited for about 1.5 hours to be called up for our interview. She asked Amro if he understands everything in the forms and documents and if he swears them to be truthful. She told him to sign the DS-156K and write your fiancée’s name on the form. I mentioned at this point that I was the fiancée, and she said with a smile “I assumed that. You don’t look like his relative” Then she asked: When did you meet online? When did you visit Egypt? When did you visit the second time? Do you have a joint sponsor? She then said “I am approving your visa petition and you should receive your visa in 10 days” She gave us back the original documents we gave at the other window and the 5x5cm photo. The interview itself was only about 2-3 minutes, and the questions were primarily directed to me, not Amro. We left at about 10:45 am. Overall the process was very friendly from start to finish.
