Was possibly the hardest office I've had to get into in Sydney, but definitely worth it! I had to go through security, was then buzzed up to the actual floor the consulate is on. Fast elevator! Had to walk halfway around the building to get to all these places.
Got to a window, friendly American asked me for my passport, then buzzed me through. Caution, heavy door! I took a number from the machine as I walked in, sat down for maybe 5 minutes and then got called to a window. Lady had to sort out my paperwork, all was good. Then sat down for maybe 10 minutes, called to second window for interview. VERY friendly guy there, he had everything we had sent in right in front of him (big red APPROVED stamp on it!). Asked me a couple of questions, how we had met (he found our story really sweet!, asked if I had more recent photos which I did as my SO had visited since we last sent our proof in. And that was it, I was told that I had been approved and to expect my passport back in the mail. Not scary at all.
