Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My husband and I had our Adjustment of Status interview on September 5th, 2006 at 9:00am. We got there a bit early and ended up being called in about 15 minutes after 9. The interview was in someone's office, not a big deal, very informal. Here is how it went:

1. She asked us to raise our right hands and swear to tell the truth...
2. She asked for our id's, my driver's license, his permit, social security card, and passport.
3. Wanted his I-94 as well (which they keep and she didn't mention this, so we were suprised when we found it missing after the interview, but they told us that they do keep it)
4. She asked us where we were staying, who else lived at the residence.
5. She asked how we met and why I was in Nairobi in the first place.

Then basically, some paperwork and the stamp on his passport (which ended up being illegible because it was so blotched) but he was approved and that's the important part. She said to expect the green card in about 3 weeks time in the mail.

Interview took about 10 minutes, not a big deal.

Good luck to all of you going in!
