We arrived really, really early.. 9:20 - Our appointment was at 10 am, and the confirmation even says not to come more than 20 minutes early, but we did, and it was DEAD, so the agent looked through our bags and let us go in early, giving us a 9:30 appointment.

We were the only K applicants there, and the security guards and interviewers were all very friendly. Having my fiance there was key, apparently. Not only would they have probably made me wait until 10 without him, but he was allowed to come right in with me. Once I was called up to the window, they let him come with me, and he just sat right behind me while I was interviewed. I was nervous, and I stuttered a little at first, but the agent didn't even bother trying to trick me with oddly phrased questions, or bother digging into the nature of our relationship. Bringing a fiance with you to a K interview is pretty much a guaranteed yes, and he only asked what he was legally required to. I think I was asked maybe ten questions or less... They never asked for, or even glanced at, all the evidence we took with us (two very heavy folders, one of text messages and photos, and one of boarding passes, letters, hotel bookings, receipts, etc). My fiance basically WAS my evidence of relationship, they only seemed interested in making sure the documents were all in order.

I was out of there by 10:16, so shortly after I was scheduled to arrived. It was PACKED in there by the time we left... We got really lucky. The vancouver consulate staff were friendly, helpful, and made this last step a LOT easier than I had expected it to be.
