Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Well my interview was scheduled @ 10:15 and we reached at 10 and waited outside the building for my attorney. Well he came in on time and we went upstairs on the 2nd floor. And my attorney checked us in. In a couple minutes my name was called and I was greeted by a very nice IO and she showed us the way to her office. My attorney was astonished and asked her that she usually doesnt do the initial green card interviews to which she replied that she found my case very interesting so she wanted to conduct the interview and said she did her homework pretty well.

She started off by asking us to take the oath and then the first question she asked me was does your wife have you on her medical insurance and I said yes and she asked for a proof. And then she asked when and on what basis did I come to the states and some interogating questions because she learned through my file that I was a pilot so she had too many questions on why and how and where did I train and did I graduate the flight school. Then she flipped through the file and asked us where did we meet and all the standard questions and every answer that we gave made me gain confidence. She asked on who stay with us in our house, how many rooms are there? Where do I sleep when I work odd hours. And she asked what my future plans in the states. And she asked about what does my family do back in home. Asked about what kind of planes have I flown and some more questions about Aviation as she said that she loved Pilots when she was young.

Well then she asked me to give her all the documents that we had'nt submitted with our application. So I submitted the new bank accounts that we opened, loan accounts, medical insurance, investment accounts and my latest paystubs. Then she asked me for my I-20 on which I entered the USA the second time I came back.
She asked me why did I wanted to be a Pilot and I told her that I wanted to join the US AIRFORCE and would love to fight for the USA. She asked me if I had any emails or confirmation from the USAF on behalf of my application and I told her that I dont have it with me so she was like you need to send that accross to me ASAP and then she said ask your attorney to fax it to her personal line. And she said thank you for coming in and we should expect to hear from her in 3 weeks. In all it took about 45 mins in all.

She asked us to wait in the waiting and said she wanted to talk to my attorney. After a couple of mins my attorney walks out and tells me to email him the copy of emails from the USAF. And rest all looks good. So I sat in my car and emailed him the copy. After an hour my attorney faxed a copy of the email to the IO and me. And in about 10 mins from the time I received the fax I get a text that my case status had been updated. As soon as i checked online it said "On August 25, 2011, we ordered production of your new card."

I was so happy, hugged my wife and this was it. It was a very pleasant experience being there but surely I never wanna go back there again, So Im done with the USCIS till 2013 or maybe forever.

God is great!
