We had our interview appointment at 8 am, and we arrived at 6:30 am. There was no line at all, except for one other person and a couple. The doors did not open until about 7ish, I'm not too sure. But the line started to form momentarily. There was a guard that unlocked the chains that were inside of the doors, and opened them, then asked for our passports and the interview letter. We then proceeded to enter and went through another door and went through security, it was very quick. We had our car keys which had a keyless entry, so we had to give them the keys, and they give you a receipt to retrieve it when you're done. The guard then told us to take the stairs down to the waiting area where the elevator was. We went down and waited for about half an hour until another guard showed up, removed the ropes that were infront of the elevator. We all stood up and waited, he then randomly selected certain people and let them into the elevator, which was weird, it certainly pissed off a handful of people and us. But anyway, about 5 minutes later, he let everyone else go in the elevator...like everyone has mentioned, go to the back of the elevator because it'll open on the other side when you go up. When we got out of the elevator, they directed us to go to window 14b to grab our number, we got C12. It was 8:20 am when we stepped out of the elevator. We got called up about 15 minutes after receiving our number, they asked for: 2 passport photos, medical results (not x-rays), passport, DS-230 (had one filled out) and finger prints. We then went back and sat down, waited for about 45 minutes until we were called again, this time, it was for original documents, they asked for our marriage certificate, 2010 tax transcript, birth certificate of beneficiary, and police certificate, and any other documents you wish to submit ie. employment letter, affidavits, etc. They also had you verify your DS-230 form to make sure all the information is correct, and corrected any for you (asked for my postal code, and maiden name etc...which was ALREADY on the form). We went back and sat for about an hour and 45 minutes because the people that were called ahead of us had a really long interview. We were called up close to 11 am, and the lady behind the glass was very pleasant and nice. She asked for a finger print of my index finger on the machine, then she asked both my husband and I to raise our right hand and we took an oath. She was then shuffling through papers and gave me back all the originals I had submitted, then she asked:
1. How old were you when you came to Canada?
2. How did you two meet?
3. When did you get married?
4. Did you have a ceremony?
4. Why no ceremony?
5. What does your husband do for work?
6. Where does he work?
That was it, they were all very short questions with quick answers, overall it took about 5 minutes. She smiled and slipped me the welcome letter, and told me that I was approved.
