My appointment was for 9.30, but I arrived there at 8.30, which was no problem. After checking my name on a list and giving me my number, I had to go through security, which was comparable to the procedure at an airport. Friendly officers. They kept my umbrella, and I got a number to get it back later.
Then I had to go over a little backyard to the main building. An officer told me where to seat and wait. There were 299 seats, and 23 counters. You have to stand in front of a window. After 10 minutes my number was called up and I had to go to window 23. The lady there asked for my passport, another passport-picture (I had sended 2 in with packet 3), and the voucher for payment. She also asked me if I already did my medical. She gave me a letter which said how to organize my papers.
After ca. 15 minutes, I was called to counter 21. There a friendly young man took my papers, and gave me a big brown envelope where I had to put the stamps (4,25 €) and my address on. He explained me that I'll have an interview at another counter, and that if everything is fine, I'll receive the visa in the passport in around 10-14 days. He also explained me that I have 6 month for POE and 90 days for marriage, and that I have to do AOS after this. At counter 23 and 21 they spoke german with me.
Then, 20 minutes later, I had my interview at counter 17. A lady took my oath and then my fingerprints. Then she started to ask me questions. Where is your fiance now? When did you meet? Where? Have you been to the US? Did you like it there? Has he been here? How often did you meet, when, where? When is he born, and where? Was he already married? Has he children? How old? Names? What do his children think about your relationship? Did you meet them? When? Where? How old is he? How old are you? Did he meet your parents? How was their contact? Are his parents still alive? etc.. What is his work? What is your work? Are you intending to do this in the US too? It was no problem to answer these questions. She was friendly, and veeery accurate. Then she looked through the affidavit of support etc.. After this she went through our petition again, and looked at pics we sended in, asking me who is on these pics.
After maybe 25 minutes, she said that everything looks fine and that I'll receive my passport with the visa in ca. 10 days. She wished me a nice day.
It took around 1,5 hours in total. The atmosphere was friendly .
