So here is my review of the Montreal Consulate. Its a few days late, but after my interview I stayed and visited with family in Quebec for a few days, so I just got back at 1am this morning.

On Monday (the 27th), I arrived outside the consulate at about 6:45am. There was one couple ahead of me, and I'm glad I arrived when I did as shortly after the line started to grow. It was to the end of the block pretty quick. At 7:30, the guard came to the door. He had us all move to the other side as apparently we lined up on the wrong side of the doors. oops. One by one they let us in and through security. It was pretty quick and we were directed through the door to the left, down the stairs, and into the waiting room as we finished our security searches.

Once we were downstairs, the couple ahead of me took the two closest seats to the elevator, and I sat beside them. The elevator was corded off, and we waited for someone to come and bring us upstairs. At 8am, they opened the elevator, we were all asked to show our x-rays, and herded onto the elevator. I stood behind the first couple again, to the left back of the elevator.

Once we were upstairs we were directed to the left again and through a line that was corded off to keep us in order. One by one we were called up to the window to show our interview letters and what not, and given a number. I got C-2! We sat in the waiting area and it wasn't long before the numbers were called. When I was called to my window, the gentleman took my finger prints, medical results, and passport. He then directed me to sit down and wait in the waiting area again. A few minutes later I was called to another window to verify my DS-230 I had submitted previously. I was then told to sit and wait again.

Shortly after, I was called up for my interview. The lady who interviewed me was very nice. She was blonde. She asked me how my husband and I had met and where he lived. When I told her he lived in Arkansas, she joked that it must be love, why else would I move to Arkansas? lol. I replied it wasn't THAT bad.. and he lives close enough to a big city so its not terrible. Besides, I'm not a city girl. She asked a few questions about WoW, like was he in my guild? and I told her he did not play anymore because of finishing school, and now work. She asked if I still play, I said yes and mentioned a few other people I knew who played and were doing the immigration thing. Over all, she was very pleasant! She handed me my welcome letter and said welcome to the US, to which I replied Happy Birthday to me! ha ha. Then she said well, I guess it was either going to be a very good birthday or a very bad one, and I said well, I'm glad it was a good one!

I had already signed up with DHL so I headed to the elevator and back outside to find a cab. I was done by 9:00 am, so it was very quick, much quicker than I anticipated. Now I just have to wait for my visa so I can finally be with my hunny! Oh I hope it comes soon!! I miss him so much!
