This is my review of the consulate process in CDJ. The appointment letter the consulate sent never arrived at my home address in Aguascalientes, Mexico. However my fiancee in the US received within three weeks, she emailed it to me and it was OK to use that for all appointments. Once i got the letter I called to make the appointments and got my ASC (fingerprints and photos) appointment on Monday June 6th and my consulate interview appointment on Tuesday June 7th (I do not recommend choosing dates that are so close together just incase there is a problem with your medical examination) Got to CDJ on Sunday 5th, and on Monday morning went to get my medical examination done, they informed me that my medical results would not be ready until 10am the next morning, this is why i don't recommend having your dates so close to each other.
In the afternoon I went to the ASC for my fingerprints, which was a breeze, about 45 minutes, most of the time just sitting and waiting. The next day I went to get my medical results and was just in time to still arrive for my consulate interview. The interview was also a breeze it took 2 houurs and 20 miniutes overall, again most the time I was just sitting and waiting. The actual interview was about 3 minutes long at most, and I was asked the following questions : "When did you meet/Where?, When/How did you get engaged?, Will your family be attending the wedding?". The guy who interviewed me was really nice, congratulated me and said the visa was APPROVED!. He said it would take from 3 days up to a week (I chose the CDJ DHL). It took exactly 10 days for me to get my visa, which was what the DHL people told me was normal, despite what the consulate said! I went through the El Paso bridge with no problems, and heading to see my love tomorrow !
**The appointment letter is required for all parts of the process**
