Frankfurt, Germany | Review on June 17, 2011: | keda

I had my interview on June 16th at 9:30am. Took a train to Frankfurt and then subway U5 to Giesser Strasse (runs every 5 minutes and takes 16 minutes from Hauptbahnhof), from there it's just a 2 minute walk. I had my cellphone with me and left it at a little shop next to the subway station, when I picked it up again later I threw some money into their Kaffeekasse. I also saw people hiding something that might have been a phone in the shrubs, and on the way back I saw that the kiosk next to the subway stop offers safekeeping. So if you need your phone later that day, you can bring it with you and just leave it there.
I got there at about 9:10am, there was a huge queue for non-immigrant visas, but I was told to jump the queue and go straight ahead. I could bring my water bottle through the security check, I was just asked to take a sip in front of them.
It was fairly busy (it's a huge place!), but I didn't have to wait that long. They didn't ask for any proof of our relationship, or ongoing relationship. All I needed was my birth certificate (1 original, 1 copy), police certificate, and the affidavit with supporting evidence. Well, and 4.25 in stamps and two pictures. I guess they did look at the letters of intent I had sent in with the forms.
The only questions they asked where more like small talk (where does your fiance live, where does he work, does he have siblings, have you met his parents, will your family come to the wedding, what do you plan on doing in the US in terms of work, when did you last see each other). Nothing to worry about, everyone was very friendly.
I was out of there by 11am.
